Hi, so I bought a new laptop battery because the one in the laptop didn't work. When I put it in the laptop nothing happened, however after a couple of minutes it started to charge so, I put it to sleep and when the battery light turned green. I unplugged it and it wouldn't turn on. So I plugged it back in then turned it on, and it said that the battery was at 100%, but it wasn't charging. So I unplugged it and it just shut off.
Thanks.

Solution
It sometimes happens with new batteries and you need to reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery from the Device Manager.
For Win7 to get to Device Manger, right click on My Computer and properties, click Device Manager on the left panel, or go to Control Panel and run the DM there. For Win10: Windows key and X.
The top option should say Batteries, expand it and right click Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery => uninstall and restart you laptop.
