My N7010 randomly/intermittently locks up (no blue screen or any error) when i unplug my audio jack.
I have checked for any BIOS updates. None are forthcoming from Dell.
Any help much appreciated.

Happened to me on a LENOVO. I suspect it's bad RAM. Try running memtest86+ for a while and see if you get any errors.

The other possibility is some sort of short cause by badly isolated headphone jack.

I never did get to fix my problem (corporate PC, couldn't run tests on it). Changing the computer fixed it, but I hope you'll have better luck.

Thanks for suggestions. I did test memory before and just ran again - no errors.
As far as the short possibility I kind of doubt that as it doesn't lock up right away when I pull it. It seems to do after a few moments. If I disable the audio device in device manager before I do this it doesn't happen. So I think it most probably is software related.
