I recently got an old AW M15x from a friend who stopped using it a few months back because it didn't boot. He gave it to me since it was no use to him anymore. Long before then the battery quit working.

When I received it, I fixed the boot problem by putting in a SSD, and bought a new battery in the hopes that was all that is wrong with it. But now that it has been tested with 2 batteries, I was starting to think it was something other than the battery or PSU. With the research that I've done, it seems to be a fried charging circuit, I see two solutions. One would to by a new Mo-Bo, and another would to buy an external battery charger. I don't care about if the external battery charger would be inconvenient, I just want something as cheap as possible. Please help me figure out what is easiest as I've already done the following things:

Turn off and unplug the system and batteries, hold the power button down.
Take the battery out, turn off, turn back on, log in and put the battery back in.
Toggle the FN and F2 key to turn the battery on.
Uninstalled the battery drivers and reinstalled.
Various other combinations of these, I've been frustrated..
