Audio jack not working on Acer laptop

Hi
So my audio jack on my Acer aspire timelineu has been broken for a while now. I tried finding a fix when it broke but I failed. I've been using a soundcard since but I lost it recently so here I am again.
When I put my headphones in, it works for a second and then it stops. I've tried all kinds of headphones so it's definitely the jack.

what do mean by broken as in physically or corrupted software?

I'm having the same problem. It seems to me it gets worse the longer it happens (at one point all wires just had to be pointed in a certain direction for the left one to work, the right one is fine) and my audio jack will now not even try to play through earphones, it just comes out the default speakers.
