sony kdf 55xs955 TV inputs 7 and 8 (HDMI) not working on remote

I have acquired a TV where inputs 7 and 8 (these are the HDMI inputs) are not working with the input switching on the remote. I have tried a working BluRay player and a Roku in both 7 and 8 HDMI inputs. The inputs only switch to 5 and 6. Is it a switching problem or HDMI port problem. How do I get it to work?

1. Make sure you have an active source connected to the HDMI input when you try to switch to it. The TV may not let you switch to an input that is not receiving a signal.
2. It is possible that the HDMI board of the TV is bad. Maybe that's why you got the TV.
