I am attempting to fix a Lenovo Yoga 2 for a friend. He dropped it and the glass on the screen has been cracked and would not turn on.
First thing I did was test the charger with a multimeter which turned out to be dead. I bought a new one and plugged it in to no effect. No Leds and no sounds coming out of the laptop. I opened it up reconnected the battery and charging port and nothin
Any advise on how to diagnose what has gone wrong with it?

It is possible it is the motherboard. It would be best to test if it is getting the correct amount of power. It could also be the port as you mentioned. I mention the hard drive as they really do not stand up well to any impact. The drives on laptops you would think would be tougher, but they are less so than those used in desktop models. A decent drop can make it nonfuctional.

I have a usb dock to test the hard drive but I feel like the problem is elsewhere. If it were just the hard drive it would say something about the boot device or bootmanager is missing or something right?
It just doesn't turn on at all. How do I test the motherboard? That's what I really want to know. Could it be just the charging port is not sending power to the motherboard? How would I test this? Thank you for answering. Any further help would be appreciated.
