Hi there,
my network adapter (wifi) is occasionally failing. I know how to reset. However, on a different device (tablet-computer) it started like this with later having to reset every hour and ended up that it didn't find the network adapter at all (came by chance on again two weeks later - no updates done). I assumed a hardware problem (+ I encountered another unrelated problem) and decided to return this one to the seller. Now the same problem starts on my main laptop (no refund here). I had to reset twice so far. I ran the diagnostic and every check is reported as 'passed' (drivers etc.). Possible alternative: I can connect the laptop to my phone's internet connection (via USB or bluetooth). However, I'm not sure if this 'workaround' would help in case the 'network adapter can't be found' at all here too. It seems the network adapter controls ALL incoming and outgoing traffic? As updates are frequently done (still Windows 7 - it will have to remain that way until some new laptop bought) I wonder if this problem is software or hardware related? Or both? And can I rely on my 'workaround' in both cases?
I'm very thankful for any suggestions.
