I started making videos a few weeks ago with other people's cameras, I made a school project with my friend's I made a birthday video with my step dad's, and I just made a few videos without a camera at all
The thing is, I dont have a camera that I can use. I have a 1st gen moto G so my phone's camera is pretty bad also.
with all the sales, I was thinking about buying the panasonic lumix g7 since it has the best video capabiliteis (4K FTW!) when comparing to other cameras in that price point
but the problem is, it still costs around 500$ which is still a lot of money
as I wrote before, my current phone is the 1st gen moto G and I was thinking about upgrading it in about 6 months.
but, I can simply buy the oneplus3 (for example) and use that as a camera and that will be both a smartphone upgrade and a camera
So currently I have two options:
buying the lumix G7
or buying a OnePlus3
If Ill be buying the camera Ill wait 6 months and buy a new phone that doesnt have a very good camera in the ~300$ range

I know its going to just be a "what do I prefer deal"
but I want to hear other people's thoughts too
thanks for answering!

In my opinion, the Panasonic's capabilities to shoot videos are exceptional for all but most extremal video shooters. A range of mountable m4/3 optics, a good sensor and reasonable prices allow shooting more conveniently than if you will use a small-sensor hand camera or a phone. Therefore, if you plan to take an earnest apoproach to making videos, a good camera rig and/or a tripod are as important as your camera itself!
