About two years ago my computer screen got dropped and a large black dot appeared on the top left corner of the screen. It is about the size of a quarter. Today while working on my computer, the dot moved down about and inch. It has not changed at all since the initial damage. What could have cause the black dot and for it to have moved after two years? I believed it to be dead pixels, but can dead pixels move like that?

I have an HP Probook 450.

Thanks!

The fact that the spot moves suggests that the impact sustained 2 years ago has caused addtional pixels to malfunction. Since your HP is (at least) 2 years old, the warranty will have expired. If the HP still works without problems, you could consider replacing the screen. A replacement screen for your HP is available from this site:
http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/HP-Compaq/PROBOOK~450~G1~(F2P36UT)/

You need to check the detailed specifications for your HP before ordering a screen that may cost you $50. And you might also search e.g. YouTube for videos that show you how to remove the bezel and unscrew the screen. If you know someone with even basic PC skills to help you out, you could potentially end up with a machine that will stay with you for another 2 or 3 years (depending on the computer itself).

Best of luck,
GreyCatz.
