Solution
You can honestly just set it as a 4 speaker surround , 1 set in front output, 1 set in rear.

No need to alter sub settings etc.
Its not there for lfe & isnt classed as a seperate sub channel on either of those 2 speaker sets , ita there just because the stereo speakers have a very low range.

You can do it but I have no idea how it would sound. You would connect one set to the rear left & right and the other to the front left & right. This would give you surround sound but I'm not sure how the subwoofer would work. You would need to mute one of the subs (probably the rear one) but also tell the PC that the subwoofer you're using is attached to the front speakers instead of the centre speaker (which you don't have). Do you have any settings to either select no sub and full range (low pass on the 2.1 should send the bass to the sub anyway) or set the sub on the front & left? You could also just buy a pre-owned 5.1 system like an Logitech X-530 off of Gumtree for $80 if that doesn't work.
