Fire tv thru projector surround in optical out on fire tv. Great! But can't get local channels like abc nbc cbs on fire tv or sling!! So thinking of antenna to projector using digital converter box. But now I have a surround sound issue due to my optical cable going into fire tv! Help

If your projector is not HD you can use a antenna and ova digital converter box (meant for non HD TVs with NTSC analog tuners)..
If it is HD then you want an antenna and an ATSC HD tuner (it will have HDMI out) so you can get the superior picture quality. Some have DVR functions and even more than one tuner. Most have coaxial digital audio output.
To make the connections the best way is get an HDMI input selector with audio extraction like this one
