Lenovo t420s status indicator will not light up

Solution

That may be it then, the location of it lines up with the status lights. They are pretty cheap to replace, the biggest hassle is getting the screen off. The way the antenna wires are routed you have to take apart the whole case.

If there is any kind of program on your computer that controls it, maybe open that up and make sure it is enabled.
Other than that, I would give Lenovo customer support a call.

The lights on the screen, One at the back and one at the front. The one at the back has a crescent moon and a battery icon. And in the front it has a light that tells if the hardisk is spinning and so on.....

So none of them light up? You plug in the battery cord and the battery light does not go on? Could be a connection is loose or the lights are out, but a bit odd that none of them are working.

Aside from that the laptop works fine right? Or are you saying the laptop is totally dead?

The laptop works perfect. I just checked the mother board, the cables and everything seemed to be fine. I asked some of my friends and they are asuming it is a fuse. But since I do not know the symptopms of a fuse I do not know if I am effected.

What is the symptoms of a bad fuse and how do they happen?

Well a fuse protects from power surges, it breaks the connection before electricity can get to the other parts. So symptom would be something not working, usually a device won't power on. How they happen, fuses actually do what they are meant to do or fail like any other electrical component. You can find tons of info on fuses in any book on electrical systems or online.

My t420s still works like a breeze but it is just that there are no LED lights. Maybe it is the inverter?
