My laptop is Dell Inspiron 5459. Whenever I start gaming, the core temperatures rise from 40 degrees celsius (at idle) to 90-100 degrees, and so the laptop shuts down. Im wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what should I do to fix this ( like lower the temperature of the core so that it doesnt overheat).

The laptop specs are
Operating system: Windows 10 ( 64 bit)
Processor type: Intel Core i7-6500U CPU @2.50 GHz
Install Ram: 4 GB
Graphics card : Intel HD graphics 520 , AMD Radeon R5 M335

Well, depending on how new the device is, you may need to either contact the manufacturer (if it is new enough to be still under warranty) or, if not, then first try cleaning out any/all dust from the device. Even if you must open it up to do so. I would not do that if it is under warranty though, as opening it can void the warranty. If that doesn't help, try replacing the thermal paste on the fan(s). Should it then still overheat, you may want to replace the fan(s) themselves, which would, also include replacing the thermal paste.

Right so I contacted the manufacturer, told me to run a diagnostics (through spamming F12 at startup), everything was alright, there no errors to api fans or drivers. So I asked why would heat up so much and the answer was that the laptop isn't suited for gaming. ( which I don't think it is true)

I cleaned the dust and all ,since there were no errors in the diagnostics, the thermal paste should still be fine?

So do you think that I should invest in a cooling pad ? Would it help resolve my matter?

Just because diagnostics are fine doesn't mean things aren't in need of help. That kind of overheating shouldn't be just due to the game. There has to be more to it.

I can't tell you not to bother with the change in thermal paste or possibly fan and paste, but I can say that keeping going the way you are going right now will fry the system. To be honest, it sounds like that tech wasn't a tech and just a customer service rep. I worked with tons of them over the years.
