I have a Lenovo z50 75 and the power jack (linked below) has broken for the third time. The original one that came from the factory worked for almost a year then started to malfunction and only worked 50% of the time. I replaced it with one I managed to find on Ebay which also started to malfunction and eventually break. The third one I have has started to malfunction and no doubt with stop working soon. I am tired of replacing it for it to break a few months later and since its a good laptop and works in every other way I was wondering if there is a better way to fix the problem?

Thank you in advanced for any replies.

The part I have replaced - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Z50-70-Z50-75-Z50-80-DC-Jack-Port-Socket-Charging-Connector-/111997760050?hash=item1a13963232:g:pQAAAOSwve5XN3S8

My laptop stays on my desk and is barley moved, What could possible be careless about that?

no idea perhaps when the jack is plugged in the weight of the charger is pulling the power jack at an angle or something?

replaced a lot of laptop power jacks in my time never had to replace any more than the once

Maybe yeah. The jack seems to be very flimsy maybe the quality just isn't there. When it first happened the laptop was under warranty so I contacted Lenovo and one of the support team told me that it was a common problem for them to break.

if charging it on your desk and the charger cable hangs down i would put some sort of clip on the desk to stop any strain on the power jack

a lot of the ones i replaced were caused by people stretching to reach the wall socket so it put strain on the power jack sidewards usually

and just to clarify my first post i meant similar ie not realising the charger might be putting strain on the jack

not that you were deliberately being careless throwing the laptop about and stuff

sorry if it came across like that

I have one of the cable hider clips I will try using that but i'll need to buy a new power jack first and don't worry I knew what you meant I was curious about what you would suggest could be the problem.
