Hi guys! I have a problem here with my asus A52JT laptop. It was originally running in AHCI mode, but after i updated some drivers in driverpack solution, laptop was not able to boot in ahci mode anymore, showing 0x0000007b error in bsod after windows 7 logo shown up. I changed mode to IDE in bios settings, my laptop booted and everything worked correctly, but i cant use AHCI mode anymore, because it crashes, is there any way to make it work in AHCI again?

You can try the following and see if it will work...

NOTE: If you are not well versed in editing the registry, please be careful. You can do a whole load of damage.

1. While in Windows go to "Start" and in the search box type "regedit". (without the quote marks.)

2. Locate and navigate to ... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci

3. On the right side of the window, right-click on the word "Start" and then click "Modify".

4. You want to now change the value in this window to "0" and then click "OK".

5. Exit the Registry Editor and reboot to BIOS.

6. Change to "AHCI", "Save" and then exit BIOS.

7. You should boot into Windows now.
