Help to upgrade Sennheiser HD 598

Hi guys I have Sennheiser HD 598 that I use with a FiiO X3 2nd gen and a JDS OBJECTIVE2. I listen any kind of music, classic, rock, metal, celtic pop and more
If i wanted to hit an higher level of quality what should I buy? Budget 200 USD (flexible)

by higher level of quality were you looking to upgrade from the hd598 to another headphone or were you looking to add more equipment like soundcards , dac, amp etc to make the hd598 sound better?

for the first, thats hard given you're still in the budget bracket the hd598 is in. the dt990 will sound quite a bit more detailed and bright with better bass but is the complete opposite of how sennheisers generally are. its not laid back and easy listening. akg has some nice cans you may like as well but again, they arent laid back.

for the second, my choice of amp would be the o2 or magni and you have one so you're good on that standpoint. the only thing left to really improve would be the dac end of things but honestly you will probably not notice on the hd598 so its likely futile.

the momentum would likely be a downgrade from the hd598. dont know about the mdr-1a as i'm not familiar with it.

honestly without knowing what you like and what you dont like about the 598 as well as what you expect in a replacement its hard to say for sure what may work for you.

if you liked the signature of the 598 and wanted to stay with something similar, perhaps the hd600 or hd650 although those are also out of your suggested price range.

You are right so let's see: I like of 598 the clear sound, the quality of the build and the comfort. I don't like the weak bass, too long cable and the fact that cant be replaced.

I would like to find something more immersive , with all range of tones nice and clear and good bass
