Hey guys , its not a software thing , because i have done several windows installations and virus checks with different antivirus softwares and i can confirm that the software side is clean . but my cpu and gpu run around 98-100c in some demanding/Modded games . game runs butter smooth at first but then horrible fps drop ( 10fps ) and i have to reload a save and then its all fine then it happens again after few minutes , drivers are updated , cable is plugged in and no powersaving feature is on . it was fine a month ago , but now i really have trouble running games with consistent performance .

tried blowing air into the laptop to clean some of the dust . nothing helps .one thing i know for sure . ill never ever buy a laptop .

in case your curious about the model . its Lenovo Y50-70 ( UHD ) . would play hours of GTA V with reasonable Performance and quality with no trouble . now even some older titles will cause trouble ( STALKER Modded ) ( Fallout 3/NewVegas Modded ) . sometimes happens to ( Warface ) ( Survarium ) free to play online games .

I am going to guess the thermal paste went bad. It needs to be cleaned out, all of it. Then you need to replace it with refresh thermal paste. This requires you to take the laptop apart. If you are not comfortable doing that, then you need to bring it to a laptop repair shop and have them do it for you.

how much will it cost ? i think i can do it my self with some internet guides maybe , i once tried to swap display panels and got it out and everything but at the end , the cable was on the wrong side and i had to put it back and everything . hated this laptop since the beginning ( its locked at 48hz and its UHD and unfitting hardware for such resolution )

Xemko did you experience the same slowdowns i'm experiencing now ? did it get any better after reapplying the thermal paste ?

Slowdowns = cpu/gpu thermal throttling.
I did not have exact same thermal issues, tho it's known that these series have thermal throttling issues and bad cooling solution. Reapplying thermal paste should help.
Thermal paste won't cost much, 10$ max. (Arctic MX2/MX4, Gelid Extreme).
I have RMAed my y50 (motherboard fried, after 1+ year), also swapped TN panel for IPS one (fhd).
