Hi first time poster and apologize if there is a solution already. So my MSI laptop does this thing where if I take the charger out and plug it back in, for whatever reason my frames will drop and games become choppy and unplayable. If I boot it up plugged in and play plugged in its fine. Once I unplug it doesn't matter if I plug it back in after, it will still run terribly. I've done a clean install and flashed the bios with the latest that their tech team gave me. Messed with the power options within Windows 10, I don't know what's going on? Wonder if anyone else has had a similar issue.

It's a GE72 Apache Pro-070

Thanks

Hi there Apetey,

I believe your laptop has two separate drives right? It should have an SSD and a mechanical drive (HDD).
If this is the case, then it would be a good idea to provide some more information on whether the games are installed on the SSD or on the HDD.
If they are installed on the HDD, then you can check this tutorial out: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/prevent-hard-drive-going-sleep-windows
You can adjust your power saving options and set your laptop to high performance.

Let me know how this goes,
D_Know_WD :)

Well, that is strange. :)

Can you take a look at Resource Monitor, once the system starts experiencing these drops? Is there high usage of some of the components?
If everything looks normal over there, I think it may be a good idea to contact the manufacturer's Support on that. The guys over there should be able to help out.

Cheers,
