HP monitor wont recgonize Asus laptop when plugged in with miniport cord.

I bought an hp montior, an hdmi cord for my asus laptop, download the drivers and software and the hp monitor says theres no input signal found. Its a brand new mini-display cord. Any idea with whats going on? I made sure that the input on the hd monitor is on hdm1.

Its an hp 27 inch - 27es display ips led backit monitor and an Asus ultrabook, touch screen, UX301L.

Hello

Have you correctly set the monitor to the HDMI input first of all? It should be automatic, but just in case...

Next, can you try your HDMI cable on another monitor or TV? If it works on another TV, then the issue is with the HP monitor. If it doesn't work nowhere, it's your cable or laptop.

Also, in windows 10, did you click on the blue "identify", in the Display Settings, once the monitor connected?

Hi, I pressed on my display settings and pressed, detect, and it said that no other display is connected. Then clicked identify and the 1/2 screen selection popped up in the left hand corner. Thanks.
