Suddenly today, the speakers on my laptop stopped playing audio. I tried plugging in headphones and all I get is a high pitched hum. I tried 3 different pairs of headphones and they were all the same. I tried reinstalling the audio driver, I tried installing the default audio drivers for windows and anything else I could think of. I booted in to linux and there was just no audio at all but no hum. Does anyone have a clue what is going on?
