G710 laptop. When i turn it on, after it has been shut down for a few hours, the screen is like opaque / bathroom window type glass. It can take 20 min. to clear. In the early stages of clearing- always from the top of the screen down- the normal sign -in page is visible underneath. Been to on-line forums but nobody seems to have had the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Richard King. UK

So t starts out that way and then slowly dissipates? From what you are saying, I would think the display is going.

Try turning off the laptop (off not hibernate or sleep), then connect an external monitor. Turn on the external monitor and then turn on the laptop. Do you get the same problem on the external monitor? If yes, which seems less likely, then the graphics card/GPU is going and needs replacement. If it doesn't happen on the external monitor, then your attached display needs replacing.

I am leaning towards the latter (display needs replacing) as it almost sounds like as it 'warms up' it is clearing up.
