I wish to replace a battery in my laptop. The battery I have found meets all the specs except it is 4400 mAh and my laptop battery says 4200 mAh. Is it safe to use 4400 mAh in my laptop instead of 4200 and will it work?

The mah is just the amount of power stored. It does not affect the compatability, just how long it will last.

It is compatible. But don't get excited you are getting another 200mA capacity. I wager dubious vendors pump up their rating just a little to sell you the stuff, because I don't believe such vendors have invented some magic to make the same sized battery with more capacity.
