Hello! I have recently changed the DC power jack on my Dell Inspiron N7110 laptop. After replacing it this messages came up:
"The AC adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The system will adjust the performance to match the power available. Please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter or greater for the best system performance."
I have tried several AC adapters including a 90W without any luck. Any ideas on why this issue occurred after changing the DC jack?
Also, the new DC power jack had a different part number than the original one, although it should be compatible.

Yes, you can update it without battery inside of your laptop. BUT you have to take care that your laptop is connected all the time during update process! For BIOS update, click HERE. Run .exe file and follow further instructions.

If something goes wrong, you can damage your laptop. So, do this at your own responsibility!

Good luck! ;)

Hi, does the replacement jack has the same number of wires of the original. And what are the part number of the original and the replacement.

Hi. Yes they both have 5-cables. The original jack had part number: DD0R03PB000 and the replacement one has number: DD0VM9PB000.

Do you think there could be a compatibility issue? I have tried several AC adapeters, and even a 90W with the same error message coming up and the battery not charging.

Thanks for your reply and help.
There are a lot of different replacement DC jacks on eBay. Which ones are compatible with my original one? Is DD0R03PB001 compatible for instance? Also, do you think it might work by updating BIOS?

I don't live in the US, but there is a seller on eBay in Germany that sells a replacement DC with part number DD0UM9TH100, Y9FHW and according to them it should be compatible with my original part. Also, do you think it's worth trying to update BIOS to fix the issue, and if so how does one do it without a charged battery?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks! The seller of DD0UM9TH100 told me that it was compatible with my original one (DD0R03PB000), so it was a good thing i asked you before purchasing it. I guess i have nothing to lose by updating BIOS, although im not sure if it's possible without a battery?
