I have a Toshiba Satelite C850-1NU and when I use the original battery, the laptop never shuts down randomly. I've had my laptop for 4 years and the battery wear was 47% and the battery only lasted an hour so I decided to get a new battery. The only differences was that the old battery had the toshiba logo and the new one didn't and the new one had a higher capacity of 5200mAh however everything else was the same and the battery does work fully otherwise. When using the new battery, my laptop powers off, FULLY, but then I can turn it on by using the power button and it has to load up all over again and the work is lost. The laptop doesn't turn off when using the old battery or when the laptop is on charge. What are the possible fixes to this problem?

Solution
Sounds like possibly a dodgy battery or connections
I would clean the contacts and see if the problem continues to occur.
Make sure you save your work regularly until you're sure the issue is solved.
Although expensive a genuine replacement battery is usually best.
Check reviews, talk to who/where you purchased the new battery see if they have had similar issues raised by other customers.
