Connected both systems with HDMI and setup the necessary i.e. HDMI CEC and ARC but no sound from receiver

Solution
Can't find the manual for the TV online but no mention of ARC in the specs.
You need ARC in both the TV and receiver for it to work. You also have to connect the receiver the the TV HDMI input labeled ARC. You have to turn it on in the TV set up menu. CEC is a separate function and doesn't need to be on for ARC to work.
Your TV seems to lack optical audio output so you can't get digital surround sound but it does have an analog audio/headphone output that will send a stereo audio output to the receiver. Use Dolby Prologic2 or other surround modes for stereo into surround sound.
I would connect all my external sources to the receiver with HDMI and only use the TV audio for the tuner.
