Hey everyone.

Just bought a new Alienware 17 R3 laptop and on the first start up it says,

'This battery is temporary disable, please turn off the computer and try again when the unit is back to operational temperature. Strike F1 key to continue. F2 to run the setup utility'

Now it was in the aircon and only just booted up. I've loaded the latest bios. Tried a motherboard power drain. I went into bios and it said the same thing and there was no where to enable it that i could see. Just wondering if anyone has any other solutions and/or ideas. I'm guessing the battery is dead, but it's brand new so that seems ridiculous on dells part.

Also, the service tag number is 780CFC2. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what type of battery these have and maybe and/or send me the link to the correct one on ebay.

This is the one i got

Thanks everyone.

Yes, i have contacted the place of purchase. And yes i am aware new products shouldn't arrive broken. Until i sort it out with Dell i'm looking for my own solution. Opening the laptop and replacing parts doesn't void the warranty according to a Dell rep.

I'm looking for the battery that is in it, cause i don't have the laptop with me to pull apart. Or a solution to the problem. Not advice on warranties. Thanks though.
