Connect sony dav-hdx278w dvd home theatre system to vizio smart tv

Solution
Dish box connect to TV wit HDMI.
Can't find specs on the Sony so can only give you general info/
1. If BOTH the TV and Sony have ARC then connect the HDMI output of the Sony to the HDMI-ARC input on the TV and turn ARC on in the TV menu system. Set TV to output in surround sound.
2. TV will have an audio output. Most common would be optical digital. If the Sony has an optical input use that. Set the TV to output in surround sound.
3. If the Sony only has an analog aux input and the TV doesn't have analog or headphone audio out then you will need a DAC to convert optical to analog.
