cannot use keyboard

my daughter has a toshiba saterlite c50-b-14d when you turn it on it ask for your pass word when you go to type it in the curser is flashing but you cant type anything tryed shutting it down but thats not happening either wondered wether its gone into tablet mode

Do you have keyboard for a desktop that you could try plugging into the usb port. See if it recognizes that?

no i dont ,it was working fine yesterday until she went back on it after tea ,thought it could be having an update as well
