Just had a terrible experience with BitDefender 2017. It wouldn't work on my Windows 7 box and their customer support was super slow to respond and had me installing drivers, rebooting, turning off things, rebooting... gah! So fed up after 2 weeks of this. I've never had issues before.
Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement product. I've used Webroot and found it annoying at times, so I'd rather not go back to that. My objection with Kapersky is it is Russian and I'm not sure I trust a Russian product right now.
Does anyone have a product that they'd recommend that they've actually used on a Windows 7 machine that isn't intrusively annoy like Webroot (I hated that it marked up my google searches so annoyingly and you can't turn it off in Chrome). BTW: I've read glowing reviews in PC mags for products I absolutely hated so I tend to distrust AV reviews I read online, unless they're from real people. Even Amazon reviews seem pretty suspicious nowadays. In fact, I wrote a bad Amazon review of this product (politely, but honestly) and it was rejected.
I'd rather not be clobbered with ads and such, so I am willing to pay.
