Help cant get tv to go to color!

Connected dvd to magnavox flat and i out the yellow cord in the green inlet. I checked everything on tv to get to color but nothing. Should I buy the blue green red cords to fix?

Most likely. The color coded cables are suppose to be standard but you cannot put your faith in it 100%, but is VERY SIMPLE. A component video connection has 5 RCA connectors, two for audio and the other 3 video are labeled Y, PB/CB, PR/CR. You just have to match the labels back of DVD against back of TV.
