I have been looking for an answer for a long time, "How can I permanently set minecraft to a certain priority". I have Windows 8.1, so please don't give me a download link to Prio. I've tried it, it doesn't work on Windows 8 or later. I have tried youtube videos, googling it, pretty much everything.

Thanks for your time,
Andrew

Solution
Priorities in Windows are given on per-process basis, so you start whatever app you want, open task manager, and set priority on the already running process.

But I don't think this is your problem (unless you have tons of background apps doing something heavy).
