my specs - intel i3 4005U @1.7 ghz - ram 6gb - windows 10 64 bit - Nvidia 840M - 144hz monitor fps is around 40-50 , confused when my friend with lower spec computer is having around 80 fps on max setting ,when im just having 40-50 on any settings. Even if i lower my dota 2 graphic settings it stays around 40-50 and sometimes even drops to 30 when fight goes on. Im even running 32bit Dota 2 and it doesnt really change anything. Some ideas why is that and how to fix it?

Solution
Try the -vulkan option it really helps on low core CPUs,although hyperthreading might make this irrelevant.
You are getting about the same FPS as my celeron that's 1Ghz faster, quite impressive.

As I see you are running a laptop which its not that good for gaming while core 2 duo PC could do better that is my opinion and u can ask other forums to be sure

If you look at system requirements on dota 2 steam store page you will see that minimum CPU is: Dual core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz
So the reason why your fps is low, is your cpu that's running at 1.7 GHz. If cpu is the limiting factor then you usually see little difference in fps on different graphical settings.
