Locked out of BIOS?

I have an MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3k laptop. I have an SSD(128 gb) and HDD(1 TB) where the OS (windows 10) is on the SSD. I went to partition the HDD so I could install Ubuntu on that and left 100gb of space unallocated because I was going to use that for the Ubuntu install. After I restarted my laptop to go install Ubuntu on my flash drive the MSI logo would pop up as usual but then I would end up going to a blank screen with a single non-flashing dash and the computer would just hang here. After restarting it a couple times I managed to get it to boot on the flash drive to bring me into the Ubuntu install but the install wouldn't work because it was giving me an i/o error. I used my other computer to get a Windows 10 iso where I used that to go into a command prompt to use the check disk utility and it said both of my drives now had 0 bytes left on it. I didn't understand this at all and my only option from here was to wipe both drives. I finally got a fresh install of windows 10 working again and I can boot back into Windows but now every time I try to get back into my BIOS the same error as before happens where its just a screen with a white non-flashing dash that hangs. Aside from this I can boot into Windows every time but my BIOS is inaccessible. Could this error have to do with my drives showing up as having 0 bytes left after I partitioned my HDD and left 100gb of space unallocated?

Solution
You should be able to get into the BIOS even if there was no hard drive in the computer. Sounds like you messed up the boot sector when you partitioned the drives, which causes that cursor to come up.

You may just not be hitting the BIOS option fast enough or using the wrong key.
