I have an onkyo sr333 and a new lg tv. I want the sound to work on the tv and external speakers?

Can't be exact without the model of the TV.
1. Connect all you sources to the receiver and it to the TV via HDMI. Connect the receiver to the HDMI ARC input on the TV. Turn on the ARC in the TV and receiver.
2. Most common audio out on TV is optical. Use a toslink cable. Consult the TV and receiver manual for set up.
3. If the TV has analog or headphone out you can use this connection.
