I bought an element TV and I cannot get it to get off hdm1 with the remote or any other way I'm trying to get it to DVD everyt

I bought a TV online and cannot get it off of hdm1 with the remote or without the remote it will continuously go back to hdm1 no matter what input I push I need it to go to DVD player and it just continues to go back to hdm1

Try turning off the CEC function in the TV menu (It may have another name like anynet+).
CEC is supposed to make operating your set up with one remote easier but it screws up more than it helps.
If that doesn't work it's time to get the TV replaced with a working one..
