Hey guys this is my first post here and I am really struggling... I have an asus x550ze laptop and I tried to update my bios because I needed some new features. It said it had completed the bios update and it was just stuck at %100. after a few hours I decided to turn off my laptop and try to restart it, but I found that it would not turn on. The led indicator lights were still on at the time, but as soon as I unplugged the AC adapter, the led lights were gone and they never came back on when I re-plugged the adapter. I tried everything I could but it wouldn't work. Do i have to replace the bios chip? or can I flash the bios chip? I don't know anymore. Please help thanks!!!

Does your laptop have a CMOS? If so, reset it. If not, some laptops just need the power button held down with no battery/power supply connected.

EDIT I see some people get the recovery boot by holding power down for a minute then pressing Fn and F5 together with the power button

Alright I'll give it a shot tonight and yes my laptop dose have a CMOS bit I have already tried holding the power button without the AC adaptor and battery unplugged. That did not work. I haven't tried pressing down the power button while pressing FN F5. Hope it works.

Hey sorry I havent been able to test your method of pressing the power button for one minute and then pressing FN F5 together until today. Sadly that did work... My laptop dose not show any led lights at all and no fans spin up at the time that I was testing your method.
