Unable to launch/ Run any game on my windows 8.1 Laptop, need you help guys!!!!!!!!!

i have winows 8.1 installed on my laptop and NVIDIA Getforce GT 840M. So my problem is when i download any game and install it, it get perfectly installed without any errors, but as soon as the installation is complete and i try to run the game double clicking the game icon, the circle on mouse rotates but after few seconds nothing gets started. i am not able to play any game, i tried almost everything uninstalling and reinstalling but cant resolve the issue. Kindly go through this and help me out coz only you guys are my last hope.

Are the games you are trying to install/run compatible with Windows 8.1?

Also have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers for both the graphics card and the sound card?

Lastly, are you certain that the NVIDIA is set to be the main one used?

Firstly thank you so much for a quick reply. No, I didnt try reinstalling soundcard though and yes of course they r compatible with windows 8.1 and the games which i try to run are not even that high graphic games. seriously not a single game is running on my laptop.

Do try and reinstall the drivers for the sound card and the graphics card, and do make sure that the correct graphics card is being use.
