Hello Everyone,

I acquired the Logitech z506 5.1 speakers a few days ago and I can not seem to get them to output 5.1 audio in any games. After lots of searching i have found out that a lot of newer games support 5.1 audio and I have been trying to achieve surround sound with DiRT Rally.

Here is what I did:

Plugged the speakers in correctly, double and triple checked to make sure that they were plugged in properly. Luckily, everything is colour coded.

Right clicked the sound icon in the system tray, selected playback devices, right clicked on "Speakers", selected 5.1 audio. I hit the test button and sound emits from ALL speakers individually as they should.

Opened the system tray, right clicked SupremeFX, Clicked "Sound Options", under Speaker Configuration I selected 5.1 Speaker. Hit the play button, sound emits from ALL speakers properly.

Fire up DiRT Rally and sound only emits from the front left, front right, centre, as well as the subwoofer.

I also tried lowering the quality of sound, this did not remedy the situation.

Why are the rear speakers not emitting sound?

Thanks

Hutcheh!

DiRT does allow surround sound. I tried Project Cars as well just to be sure. Anyhow, for some reason, when I went to SupremeFX, I fooled around with the DTS Connect settings and then shut the DTS settings off and now all of my speakers emit sound with DiRT as well as Project Cars. If only I knew that before I posted on the forum! I have been trying to enable 5.1 for 3 days now
