I am looking at a couple HP laptops. One is a15.6 in screen with a quad core a10. The other is a 17.3 in screen with an Intel core i3. I am totally computer illiterate and will really only be using it for things like Facebook, YouTube, email and that type of thing. I like the bigger screen it not sure if one or the other would be better. Can anyone give me any ideas?

For basic use, both cpus will be good. Intel are generally better at battery life and cooling whereas amd are normally better at having good integrated gpus. My best suggestion is to look at the display quality rather than the size. Which laptop look better to you as you will be looking at it a lot.

Hi

Probably more important than screen size in inches is screen resolution
Older laptops with 1366 x 768 resolution came in a range of sizes from 13" to 17"

Full HD resolution would be nice

Amd laptops tend to have better integrated graphics than intel cpu integrated versions

Wider screen laptops often have space for a full size keyboard with numeric key pad

Read a review of laptop you are interested in or visit some larger pc stores where you can look at the laptops you are interested in
