Do you think a Clevo M760TU can handle TDP 35W?

I have a Clevo M760TU with a Intel Core2 Duo P8800 (Max TDP 25W) currently installed on its Socket P (478). Other variation of this model claim to have T9400/ T9600 installed that has Max TDP 35W.(Source: http://tim.id.au/laptops/noname/clevo%20m740t%20m740tu%20m760t%20m760tu.pdf)

Do you think my laptop can handle an upgrade to Intel Core2 Duo T9900 (Max TDP 35W)?

I would never upgrade a laptop CPU to one that is higher-power.

Manufacturers might have different cooling solutions (heatpipes/etc) for different models.

I once made the mistake of upgrading a laptop i5 to an i7.
That didn't go well.
Battery life got worse, temperatures got faaar worse.

I would rather save/spend 45 euros on an entirely new laptop. :D
TDP isn't everything. Even socket compatibility doesn't guarantee anything either. You need to ensure the BIOS will support an alternative CPU.

A lot of laptops can't upgrade the CPU. If you can, you need to ensure your hardware (motherboard, cooling solution) and BIOS can accommodate the replacement - unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to try it.

Best guess, would be if the exact laptop (motherboard et al) is available at stock with the CPU that you plan to replace it with, then you should be able to.
If the T9900 isn't available as a stock Clevo config, then it likely won't be possible.

I can't find a M760 model with a T9900, but could be wrong.

I know that i the manual I have (version 1.0 June 2008), does mention only two configuration of the Intel Core Duo T9xxx series, the T9600 and the T9400.
Note that the "date of launch" for T9600 is Q3'08!!
Even the CPU that is ACTUALLY installed NOW (P8800) on my motherboard, which is also launched at Q2'09, is not listed in this manual!!! Which makes me think that maybe this is the case of writing a manual without really testing the processor and going just with the latest CPU on the market?!!

so i make a guess that the newer BIOS, which was later updated to version 1.02.23 at 27/5/2009 would possibly support T9900...but this is a speculation...well I guess I have to waste 45 euros to find out... :(
expect if you have a better idea??

@Faux_Grey: hahahaha!! well you got it right! Tomorrow actually I am buying an new laptop !! i7 :D
well i guess I would only spent 20 bales for just buying an new battery because the one I have is dead and make some cost-free modifications like open some vents to improve the airflow, put some AC tape to connect heat pipe exhaust and fan.
