Screen connection broken

i have Acer Aspire 7250 which have broken power socket, i did change the socket and all the sudden the screen wont come up, i ordered another screen and connected it but still the same, the vga works and show the operating system on ext monitor, do you think its the internal connection cord of the MB and the screen? please help

Well it could be the ribbon cable that connects the display. If it is pinched, bent, torn, damaged, loose or disconnected, that would cause the problem. Since you said you were recently inside the laptop, I would go back in and check the cable.
