I am in the market for a laptop. I will be doing heavy gaming and some picture editing and want a laptop that will last a while. Picture quality is important. I came across this laptop: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-17-3-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-1tb-hard-drive-128gb-solid-state-drive-aluminum-black/5580312.p?id=bb5580312&skuId=558031 . Msi's website says that this one also has a 120 hz panel and a better Intel chipset. I have read that some people did not care for msi or the display. Then there is this laptop from Asus. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i7-32gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-1tb-hard-drive-512gb-solid-state-drive-black/5581109.p?id=bb5581109&skuId=5581109 . It has a smaller screen, but if it's built better and from a better company (if that's really true) then it's better. I do like the bigger screen, though. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything and see if there is any truth to what has been said about oversaturation and so on from MSI. I do have access to a color calibration kit (if it helps). If there's another laptop (or company) out there that is a far better choice, please feel free to recommend that. I dont want to spend anymore than $2200 and prefer to purchase from Best Buy. $2200 is a lot of money (which is why I have taken the time to ask for advice). Thank you so much for all of your time and answers.

Games do not need i7 cpu's, all they need is a high speed i5 cpu.
Go for a Skylake i5. Guess you have to if you want the GTX video.
i7 is only good for multi-tasking video editing and rendering.
You should check out Intel's ARK website to see what CPU the laptop you are interested in has. See how many cores and if it has hyperthreading.

Wow!!!! $2000 for a laptop
Cheaper to build a compact 4th gen desktop and haul that around in your backpack at school.
Sure you wont be the cool cat with an Apple, sipping on Starbucks and munching on granola snacks.
Also depends if you want more lanes or 2+ gpus with the route mentioned.

Going for graphics, get that laptop that you can get the external gpu setup. Razer or Razor or whatever its called.
