Hi guys,
I have an acer aspire e5 laptop with monitor problem. The laptop turns on but the screen is completely black.
I tried turning it off, unplug the battery and power cable and press the power button for a minute.
After that i cleaned the RAM connector and it helped!
Laoptop turned on perfectly, but after a few minutes the screen went black again. After i restart it worked again but after a few minutes this is what i see

Please give me a hand here,
Thanks!

Well it could be a few things. To test, try turning off the laptop, plug in an external monitor, turn on the external monitor and then turn on the laptop. If the external monitor shows no problems, then it is the attached display we need to look at. If the problem is on the external monitor as well, then it is the graphics card that is the problem.

If the external one shows things fine, you will need to (if you feel comfortable opening up the laptop yourself) check the ribbon cable that connects the display. Is it bent, pinched, damaged, loose, dislodged, etc. If so, then reconnecting or replacing it should fix the problem. Now should it not be the cable, then you could have an inverter problem, or the whole display may need replacing.

Hello,

If your monitor doesn't turn on, it could be a power issue, Are you hearing a clicking sound when you turn on the laptop. It could be that some of the capacitors on the section of your laptop's motherboard which supply power to the monitor, have failed, causing the clicking sound. The clicking is the relays which supply power to the monitor, not receiving enough power to stay on, thus your monitor won't come on. I would try having it serviced professionally. Worn out capacitors on the power supply can cause your problem.
