My Acer Aspire E15 begins the start-up process - the blue power light comes on and the fan comes on for a few seconds - and then it shuts down. It does this continuously - on/off/on/off etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

Solution
Unplug the battery and wall power, hold in the power button for about 30 seconds, try it again.

Test with one RAM stick at a time if you have more than one stick, or try a different RAM stick.

It sounds a lot like a bad motherboard, but should rule out some simple and cheap things.

Hello,

I am no expert, but there are many reasons for this problem. This may sound obvious, but when your computer tries to boot up, do you hear the CPU's cooling fan come on? Without adequate CPU cooling, the safety system will keep on shutting down the PC to prevent frying the CPU. It's a safety feature on all modern PC's. Or as previously mentioned, it could be a motherboard problem.
