Projector vs LED TV???

Actually, as long as you can control the lighting in your room, I think you're going to be ecstatic! I absolutely love my projector (Optoma HD20) for live sports and Blu-Ray.Netflix movies. I use black out curtains for daytime watching and an Onkyo HT-S3200 for 5.1 surround sound (which really upsets my apartment neighbors).

Best advise I could give would be to look into an actual movie screen like those from Elite Screens.

small note the GT1080 is a "short throw" projector, which means you can place it closer to the wall and still get a large clear image. It's twin the HD26 is the same thing minus the short throw lens. That may or may not matter to you, but the HD26 is slightly cheaper as a result.

Also projectors can make fan noise, unlike a TV which uses passive cooling. I'm not seeing people complaining about it in the reviews so its probably fine but it is a difference between TV and Projector.

Bulb replacement is expensive, but the time frame between replacement is a lot longer than expected. My first projector was the BenQ MP610, In the four years I owned and used it, the bulb usage was still under 25% (One or Two movies a week, plus football season) prior to my selling it. I've had no issues with the Optoma HD20 in the years since I purchased it to replace that old projector

In all honesty, you will likely replace the projector long before the bulb fails. Not always the case, but more than likely.

I'd sell you my old 110" projector screen in perfect condition, but the shipping would be more than what you could buy one locally or from Amazon.

So I am going for the Optoma GT1080 1080p 3D DLP Gaming Projector. Also for the projector screen do you think I can use the following?

OK I went with the optoma gt1080, looks good in general, but I still feel my old LG LED TV is brighter and more crisp in picture. Do you think projector screen will play much in this? f I got the Carl's Blackout Cloth. I wonder if this is the for all projectors.....if not my screens then is there a 1080p short throw projector that has LED quality on the market for around a 1000?

Also will there be quality improvment if I get the BenQ Gaming Video Projector (HT2150ST). I connected my HTPC to this project through HDMI, mostly doing Netflix and streaming my Xbox One game in Windows 10.

Oh yes...what you display it on can have a significant impact on what you see.
As said...I tried the Behr SilverScreen paint that was highly recommended, or on a unwrinkled black hanging fabric, or this proj screen.
The screen was the best.


However...comparing a projector to a LED TV of similar size...probably not as good, no matter how hard you tweak it.
