I upgraded my laptop to a Core i7-2620M. with motherboard 639526-001.
eventually the network port stopped working.
now. I want to upgrade the motherboard again 657462-001
using the same DDR3 ram, same processor and laptop casew/monitor.
but when I turned it on. the screen wont work.
does that mean the motherboard is shot or the compatibility isn't there any longer.
all these older HP notebook motherboards get discontinued and
some of the information is old.
I just want the laptop for surfing the net.
