Hello! Class is starting back up tomorrow and I plan to spend more time on campus than I used to because I am going to join some clubs this year. My classes are also more spread apart so I am going to be on campus most of the day and will have plenty of free time. Hopefully.
Currently I am using an old Chromebook that I bought nearly 3 years ago. It has served me well, but it cannot perform some of the tasks I would like it to.
The tasks: Mostly programming and video editing. I'm also interested in learning some 3d modeling/animation and doing some light gaming.
I would like to get a laptop that runs as well as, if not better, than my desktop. Preferably. For some of the tasks above it has some troubles.
Current Desktop specs:
AMD FX-6300
16 GB DDR3 Ram
GTX 960 2 GB GDDR5
General specs of the laptops I've been looking at:
Intel i7 6700hq
16 GB DDR4 Ram
GTX 970m 3 GB GDDR5
Question: How would a laptop of those specs compare to my current desktop?
