Hey guys I am very frustrated! I have a Yamaha RX-V673 7.2 Home Theater Receiver and a Windows 10 PC with nvidia GTX 980ti card and a Hisense 4k tv.

I have tried hooking up several different ways but I cant seem to get a true 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound (Dolby or Dts)

I hooked up from PC via HDMI to Yamaha and then from Yamaha to TV into both the ARC and non Arc inputs (the ARC input says it supports 4k at 30hz vs the non ARC 4k at 60hz)
I only get 2 channel setup via the nvidia hdmi. The Realtek shows 7.1 but no sound plays.

What is the proper way to hook these up and what should the settings be?

Hi,

Did you get an answer to your problem yet?

I have sort of the same issue. I've hooked up my PC to my pioneer vsx-2021(7.1) receiver via HDMI (nvidia 960).
When going true sound settings I get to choose 7.1 and do the speaker test. Everything works great until the back speakers play true the mid side speakers. So somehow my pc sees the mid and back speakers as one.

I hope you found a solution already?
