Toshiba Intermittently loses WIFI connection

I have all of sudden problem with this laptop. It connects to the WIFI and after awhile, my Internet connection just stops. I have to reset it to continue. It happens on all kinds of browsers. Any ideas Anybody?

use inSSIDer (google it) to see wireless signal strength.

If marginal wireless then reposition your wireless router and/or switch the channel used by your router. inSSIDer gives good information on which channels are free and which have conflicts.

If good wireless then try reload of wireless drivers. If win10 then hope someone eventually improves the driver. google model of your laptop and see if many people are having the same problem. Worse case buying a usb wireless adapter is pretty cheap.

I don't think I need the inSSIDER. Signal strength is very good. There's only one wireless router, too. I have DELL laptop and the connection is very stable. Which is why I know it must be the Toshiba laptop. It just that it just happened all of sudden since yesterday *very angry*. We do have 2GB and 5GB connection. It happens on both connection, the intermittent loses. I have Windows 8.1

The drivers are all "up to date" when I checked it. Will uninstall and re-install as a last resort... aaaaghhhh

If you think of something else, let me know. Thanks for this first one

Google finds over a million hits if you search for "win 10 wireless drops" so you are not alone.

Oddly, a bios update can sometimes help. If your laptop is not current on BIOS try updating.

Uninstalling the wireless adapter in device manager does usually clean up registry values, so even if you updated your driver maybe delete the device in device manager, reboot and let windows find the driver again.

Agree though that win10 has had wirless drop problems on hardware that ran just fine with win7 where the only change was the win10 upgrade.
