Hi there Vishnu_shaji,

The fact that the drive is not recognized by Disk Management is not really a good sign. Is the drive even powering up? Do you have important data stored on the drive? Is it under warranty?

Here are a couple of easy things you can try:
- Use a different cable and attach the drive to another port.
- It will not hurt to attach it to another system as well.
- As it is not recognized by Disk Management, it will most probably not be picked up by software tools. Yet, it will not hurt to see if it would be detected by some data recovery tool.

Let us know how this goes,
D_Know_WD :)

if it is under warranty , send it for repair . if not , just open the box , get the harddisk out , and plug it using internal SATA. this will determine if the harddisk is broken , or the usb to sata bridge is not working or maybe missing a driver.
